His Excellency, the Honβble Finance Minister, paid an official visit to Tsirang Dzongkhag and held a meeting with officials of the Dzongkhag Administration, regional offices, local government leaders, and the business community. During the meeting, His Excellency sensitized the participants on resource allocation mechanisms, including performance-based grants to the local governments. He further emphasized the allocation of the Economic Stimulus Program Fund, highlighting the Governmentβs commitment to ensuring inclusive distribution across various sectors.
The participants were also briefed on recent tax reforms, including the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). In addition, discussions covered the overall financial position of the country, with particular emphasis on raising awareness about public debt and foreign reserves. Such meaningful deliberations enabled all participants to remain informed and updated on the Governmentβs current reforms and initiatives, thereby fostering a shared understanding and common perspective.
