Background
Environmental conservation is a priority for the dzongkhag administration, with continuous efforts to promote eco-friendly practices, prevent forest degradation, and manage waste effectively. Initiatives such as tree plantation, protection of water sources, and awareness campaigns on waste segregation are regularly undertaken in collaboration with communities and schools. Tsirang is also known for its ban on plastic carry bags, reflecting the district’s commitment to environmental sustainability and aligning with Bhutan’s overall vision of Gross National Happiness and environmental preservation.
