The inauguration of the ACREWAS Project, supporting climate-resilient and integrated water supply and agriculture development across six Gewogs of Tsirang, was successfully held on 15 August 2026 at Mendrelgang Central School.

The program was graced by the Dasho Dzongda as the Chief Guest, with Mr. Fadhil Bakeer Markar, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP, the Director General of DoID, officials from UNDP and MoIT, Dzongkhag sector heads, Gups, and beneficiaries from the six Gewogs in attendance.

The project has established a reliable water supply network benefiting 13,484 people, while supporting 2,145 households through climate-smart agriculture and irrigation initiatives. These interventions have improved farming practices, brought fallow land back into production, and contributed to increased household income and resilience.

We sincerely thank our donor partners, UNDP and GEF, the implementing agencies, technical teams, contractors, Gewogs, and, most importantly, the communities for their invaluable support and contributions.

A special appreciation goes to the Mendrelgang Central School management team for generously providing the hall and supporting the arrangements for the program.

The day concluded successfully, marking an important milestone in strengthening sustainable water access, climate-resilient agriculture, and livelihoods across Tsirang.
